Eileen Dixon (Acting Artistic Director of Theatrical Production at Redtwist Theatre) is a Chicago based director, playwright, actor, and teaching artist with a focus on creating and directing new work. She received her MFA in Acting and Directing from UMKC in 2022 and spent the following summer at Ojai Playwrights Conference (Robert Egan's Last Year as Artistic Director), were she worked under director Casey Stangl and playwright Anna Zeigler on the workshop of The Janiad. Eileen has developed several of her own works, including In/Genuine and Regression, which were both produced in Kansas City. In September of 2023, Regression was workshopped and produced in Chicago at Redtwist Theatre. Other credits include The Coterie Theatre, Ensemble Stage, and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Eileen’s interest currently is on artful collaboration within the play workshopping process and the directors role in new play development.

Eileen is currently the Casting Director for Redtwist Theatre's production of "The Normal Heart" by Larry Kramer.

Then, in June, Eileen is looking forward to directing the NNPN Rolling World-Premier of Jacqueline Goldfinger's Bottle Fly at Redtwist Theatre!

After that, she looks forward to Redtwist's first ever Twisted PlayFest, a festival dedicated to a years long investment in playwrights and scripts in order to give more opportunities to emerging Chicago voives to workshop and develop their new works.
